A Little Project

I was randomly in goodwill the other day when I laid eyes on the most gorgeous/ugly antique style sofa that just begged for a re-do job. I have never recovered a couch .. or anything... ever... But for some reason I was feeling particularly creative so I shelled out $19 and brought it home with me
It had some issues.... So I tore everything apart.. took all the fabric off and started from the bottom up!
It took me a few weeks to decide on fabric, btu I ended up going with a chocolatey brown Chenille that was on sale 50% off, and clearance, and 10% more off with a coupon bring the $25/yd Fabric down to $6/yd!!! I was ecstatic.. still am... ;-)
The first thing was making buttons.. 44 fabric covered buttons for the tufting on the back and seat. After about 2 hours of working on them I realized that the button tops werent staying on the backs.. to thick of fabric.. after a few emotional and mental breakdowns someone mentioned glue.. hot glue.. especially for fabric.. Thank you lady at Hobby Lobby for the coupons and advice.. That did the trick!
Bla bla boring progress pictures...
Fast forward several days and many many many hours working on the "dratted thing" and.... The final product looks a lot like this!!
Is it just me or does that make you want to curl up and a rainy afternoon with a good cup of tea and a book... ;-) Read more...
