I feel like my blog has not only been somewhat neglected lately but it has been very weighty as well. Just all my posts on thoughts I have or things that have been running through my head and not very much "fun" stuff. =) And I haven't used very many pictures in them either ;-) So to break from the pattern, here is a good long picture filled catchup and random info post for y'all!

To start things off, here are a few pictures from Solly's latest photoshoot! =) I ♥ them

Seriously... so much cuteness...

_____

I just love this picture, I don't know why other than I feel like it sums up a lot of me and my thinking self. I think sometimes maybe I think too much and when I get started thinking on a topic I will stay with that same topic for months just thinking and thinking about it until I feel I have come to some sort of conclusion or have been able to put my thoughts into action.

-------

These were Solly's and my easter baskets from AC &H. You will note that we both got matching stuffed bunnies that we sleep with every night. I sleep with the Big bunny (aka the nanny bunny) and Solly sleeps with the baby bunny and when I leave we will switch and he will have the Nanny bunny forever and I will have the baby one. =) It used to be that way to start with but he liked mine more than his, so we switched ;-) Reverse psychology people!

----

I have been using my spare time to catch up on projects and start a few new ones. I've been making hair dooies out of leftover ribbon and lace and such I have had laying around. This one has to be my favorite... I just LOVE it!

----

I took this picture the other day and thought I would share it because for some reason it appeals to my artistic eye and it was just random. I always take all my makeup out like this and then decide what I am going to use. I am not sure why I do it that way but it might have something to do with the fact that I also make Solly eat his food groups out of different bowls and in 3 bite cycles. Which is weird and when I feed him he never gets food on his face either. EVER. I figure I will get over it when I have kids and more important things to do than make sure their face is clean at all times and that they eat their food in odd numbered patterns ;-)

----

I have been packing my stuff and decided to try and sell my goldfish tank on craigslist. =) So I had the picture (which reminds me I need to list that) and thought I would post it just for fun. Both fish died and we buried them, well... Solly and I had a funeral and buried the one... the other one kinda ended up in a mausoleum of sorts and that is all I am going to say about that! ;-)

------

As I mentioned above, I have been packing my books and stuff for Katie to take when she drives from WA to NE later this month (June). I have a lot of books. Like a LOT. This is my mid mess picture. =) All my drawers and cupboards and everything are all empty now, so there are just a few random things left, and shoes, mercy! I collected a lot of shoes out here! But if I have too much for Katie, mom said I can keep my stash there with her and come get it someday ;-)

Well folks, that is all I have for you today. I hope you enjoyed my pretty flat matter-a-fact descriptions and the very odd assortment of pictures! I fear my creative caption juices are not flowing right now ;-)

Our Day in Pictures 4/8/2011

>> Friday, April 8, 2011

Solly-Polly and I went for a walk today in the glorious sunshine....why I felt the need to go for a walk after already destroying my legs and hind end thanks to Trainer Momma I have no clue, but I think it was the promise of a $1.99 blizzard from DQ on the other end that did it. That and my body's ravenous craving for vitamin D.

I really couldn't resist the pull of french fries and Solly likes them too so we ended up spending $3.70 at DQ but I darn walked those two miles so it was worth it! By the way, Banana Cream Pie blizzard is really wonderful... like REALLY wonderful!! Thankfully for Solomon I was brought up in the upper middle of a big family and I understand sharing and what it feels to be a little person. ;-)

In case you ever wondered, this is what a sweet potato lunch upper lip and ice cream lower lip and two teethed baby mouth looks like.

Solly was an angel and sat nicely on the bench or stood to look out the window. However, there was another family there with a rather ill behaved little miss who threw several fits all of which Solomon found VERY interesting and would not be convinced to look away, no matter how many times I told him it was rude to stare. ;-)

This is us... duh. I decided not to edit this picture really (except my very sore head spot which I removed because this IS the internet :-P ) and to include it, even though it is not particularly pretty or artsy because I liked it so much and it is very much... "us" just plain and simple. :-)

Solly makes my world full of little smiling moments and just preciousness. He carried his "Thumper" book with him the whole way there and back and was not about to be parted with his flowers. Yes, even after I discovered that they were in fact in prime pollen season and his shirt was turning yellow. I had to find him other ones :-P

This is what I got to look at... :D LOVE it!!!

It was so beautiful outside we decided to bring some of the "sunshine" inside too for us to look at and remember our fun when it gets gray and cloudy =)

This is my cupid:

So far he has only thrown blocks and other hard baby toys so I am not too confident in his arrow shooting capabilities at this point. ;-)

But I LOVE HIM!!!!! Oh my gosh... he melts my little heart like nothing else..

Whoopsie Daisey! Gotta pick up those chocolates he dropped!

Yep, this is my valentine this year. Cutest one I have ever had! Solly, May I be your valentine till you graduate highschool? (You are NOT allowed to date till then btw) Thank you Punkin!

9 months of my life

>> Thursday, December 16, 2010

A little over 9 months ago I got off a plane and met a little man. Since then we have rarely been separated and I am pretty much as in love as a cousin can be with a little adorable energy ball! (note "energy ball", not "bundle of cuddles" ) I cannot believe he is almost one year old already, time really does fly when they are itty bitty!

I ♥ U Punkin

Cookie Monster

I got the privilege of making 12 dozen cookies for the church dinner and we had a blast doing it!

Our favorite recipe is as follows:

SNICKERDOODLES!

1 cup shortening
2 eggs
2t cream of tartar
1/2 t salt
1 1/2 c sugar
2 3/4 c flour
1 t soda
1 t vanilla

Cream shortening, sugar, vanilla, and eggs. Add all other ingredients. Roll into walnut sized balls. Mix 1 T sugar and 1 T cinnamon. Roll balls in cinnamon /sugar. Place on un-greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Store in Ziplock bags with an orange peel to maintain softness. =)

A morning routine

>> Tuesday, May 4, 2010

Every morning John used to come into the kitchen in his pajamas and ask to help me make breakfast.

I started to teach him how to make biscuits and he almost had it down to doing it by himself when I left.

Don't worry.... I am sure we had forgotten to wash his hands.

This is just entirely too classic and cute if you ask me!

*insert huge proud grin here*

The completed product all ready to be cooked!

Never take little moments like this for granted! They are only little once, and you never know how big or small the window you have with them will be... I miss this... a lot!

Family ♥

I recently discovered with great delight that I still had several pictures from before I left home on my camera card!

This post is kind of a mishmash of those photos but I think y'all might enjoy them anyhow!

This little fellow I miss.... very....badly.

I thought this was amazing... note the water drop coming off the icicle in mid-fall.

Please agree with me that this looks like a laying down elephant!?

"I love you, you love me, we write hearts in the snow so all can see..." ;-)

This is what it looked like when I left home...

This picture almost makes me like cats. Which is sad, considering I took it, and that just seems almost really vain of me.

Did I mention I missed him?

This was an awesome mail day -- I got an herb book, Benjamin got a wrench set he had ordered, we got this card from mom, and LOTS of Valentines day candy as well!

Because everyone loves these too... ♥

Yes, that would be bare feet prints. Yes, that is real snow. Yes, that is the weirdest angle for the dog and cat. Yes, this was totally random. Hey, it amused me... *grins*

Because she is beautiful and I miss her too!
