I just wanted to pop in and recommend one of the awesomest blogs EVER!!!

I know my blog used to be on the "Awesome blogs" list... But then I left home and left a fair amount of my "awesomeness" in Nebraska.

Thankfully though, my sister Emily, (who has rivaled me for awesomeness for y.e.a.r.s!) has started a family blog complete with pictures and commentary that is to die for (or die laughing because of)

Accident Pictures

To make a long story short, Daddy and Benjamin were on their way home from work on Monday when they were broadsided by another car which came whipping out of a T intersection. The corner there is blinded by the corn and they did not see him when they came out. Daddy's truck went airborne to about 15 ft high, hit the ground and rolled 2.5 times.

By the grace of God no one in either car was significantly injured and they all basically walked away with just bumps and bruises. The following pictures depict the accident scene and bringing the truck home.

Trina caught me on windows messenger yesterday with story from her everyday life that made me laugh until I nearly choked. I thought I might share it with y'all as some of you can relate and if you can't now you know a little bit of the anything that can happen at the Hipps' house ;-)

As follows: (Warning, you might gag, cry, laugh, choke, throw up, or something of the like. Canaan Farms and the Hipps Family is not responsible for any damage to your computer or anything around you.)

"Hills.....

Guess what I did today...

well, First I went to my class, then, I hung out with Michelle, and Bree, and then we shot guns.. and then..

I killed a sheep while trying to save its life.

It was wormy, and was dying from it, so Dad said to Drench it with electrolyte, and water, which I did, and the first time it went fine...

But two hours later when I went to do it again, I did not get the drencher all the way down, and started to drown the poor dude,..so

I realized that he was dying, so I tried to heimlich him, but that did not work, so I gave him mouth to mouth resuscitation. ....aka a big smooch... and he coughed all over my face and mouth and died, I tried kissing him again, but I guess I was not his true love, cause he died anyway.

Poor sheep, Leah said that at least he died doing something pleasurable...I disagree.. all though I don’t mind kissing a sheep..."

Just another day... in the life of a farm girl! Now, who wants to come visit!?! Or better yet, who wants to be a vet when they grow up!?

A morning routine

Every morning John used to come into the kitchen in his pajamas and ask to help me make breakfast.

I started to teach him how to make biscuits and he almost had it down to doing it by himself when I left.

Don't worry.... I am sure we had forgotten to wash his hands.

This is just entirely too classic and cute if you ask me!

*insert huge proud grin here*

Never take little moments like this for granted! They are only little once, and you never know how big or small the window you have with them will be... I miss this... a lot!

I recently discovered with great delight that I still had several pictures from before I left home on my camera card!

This post is kind of a mishmash of those photos but I think y'all might enjoy them anyhow!

This little fellow I miss.... very....badly.

I thought this was amazing... note the water drop coming off the icicle in mid-fall.

Please agree with me that this looks like a laying down elephant!?

This picture almost makes me like cats. Which is sad, considering I took it, and that just seems almost really vain of me.

Did I mention I missed him?

This was an awesome mail day -- I got an herb book, Benjamin got a wrench set he had ordered, we got this card from mom, and LOTS of Valentines day candy as well!

Because everyone loves these too... ♥

Yes, that would be bare feet prints. Yes, that is real snow. Yes, that is the weirdest angle for the dog and cat. Yes, this was totally random. Hey, it amused me... *grins*

Because she is beautiful and I miss her too!

Yes, this would be the daily exhibition of the "Macarina". (Leah and Benjy, you are welcome for me not posting the picture I had of both of y'all. ;-) I would like to unashamedly state that I am the best at this particular dance but am closely rivaled by Rosie and Emily. *bows*

Sometimes I look at us and all I can think is... wow... (take that however you like)

John was helping Leah fix the fence and his run across the pasture to get her something was just so adorable!

Musings from my heart

"Why do we go with the flow Or take an easier road? Why are we playing it safe? Love came to show us the way Love is a chance we should take..."

I have been thinking and praying a lot about forgiveness and love and how they fit together.

I have seen the good side of a loving relationship, yes. However, all to often I look at the hurt side of love.
"Why should I let them in? Why should I let my guard down again? Oh no, once, twice, and y'all expect me to be vulnerable again?! Ha!"
As the age old saying goes: "Fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me"
True in a sense of being wise, but then again, not exactly applicable to true love and forgiveness.

¹⁴For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. ¹⁵But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. -Matthew 16:14-15 NIV

We have all gagged on those words at one time or another. In the past I would read that verse, be horrified, and immediately forgive anyone who I was holding anything against. This time it did not even phase me.
Plowing ahead deeper into my bitterness looked like a much easier option and I took it. I ran those words through my head and listened to countless sermons on the dangers of bitterness unconsciously hoping that something would scare the forgiveness out of me.
Nothing did.
I was starting to get concerned!
"Why is my heart so hard?"
For months I have been praying that God would relight the passion for Him that I used to have, why silence?
Suddenly it hit.
Not like a ton of bricks, but like a strong steady breeze.
"You say you cannot forgive, you are right. You are so full of your flesh that you are unable to see anything past the blinders of your hurt. You cannot see Me. You cannot forgive, until you realize the extent that you have been forgiven. You cannot truly love, without Me, the author of love, pouring My love through you. "

I knew it was true.
Of course it was true!

In my meager attempts to let go and move on I had tried in my own strength.
Halfheartedly at that!

²If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. - 1 Corinthians 13:2

I am nothing.

Without the Love of God running through me I am absolutely nothing.

The first days were hard. Praying good things for the people who I held the offense against, and daily forgiving them within my heart.

I was awed as I felt the layers of bitterness, resentment, anger, and hurt melt away from my heart, replaced with a heart of compassion, love and joy.

Suddenly I could see a part of their side of the story and my heart broke again, but this time for them.

The renewed love for Christ and the people around has begun to grow again as the passion for He who is everything is beginning to splutter and spark once again in to flame.

There is still a very long way to go and this is just the beginning of the trail.
But it is a beginning!

" I loved once and my heart was broken, I loved twice and you walked away. I will love again but this time not I, but my Everything will Love with an everlasting Love"

"Don't let your lights go down Don't let your fire burn out"
