You are Loved

>> Sunday, December 21, 2008

Don't give up
It's just the weight of the world
When your heart's heavy
I will lift it for you

*

Don't give up
Because you want to be heard
If silence keeps you
I will break it for you

Everybody wants to be understood
Well I can hear you
Everybody wants to be loved
Don't give up
Because you are loved

*

Don't give up
It's just the hurt that you hide
When you're lost inside
I will be there to find you

*

Don't give up
Because you want to burn bright
If darkness blinds you
I will shine to guide you

*

You are loved

*

Thank You!

This post is dedicated to all of you who made my 17 Birthday to be one of the best and specialist birthdays ever!

I began the day with a good morning snuggle from Sissy who came in to say hello, and was cold, and got in my bed, and fell asleep :D

Once I finally drug my carcass out of bed and went down stairs all the little kids were waiting for me in the kitchen to sing "Happy Birthday" They were on tune too!
After getting my hug from dad and having bible study I enjoyed one of my favorite and *ehem* VERY unhealthy food choices for breakfast.
Trina and Leah made breakfast for me and the rest of the crew ( I think I was supposed to do something beneficial while they did it, but I could not seem to stay away from the kitchen and ended up sitting on a bucket chatting with them :D )
Opening presents, one of which I already posted about *grin* , a quick (quick for the Hipps that is) and we left to go visit mom in West Point for the day.
I drove my charming siblings down every Minimum Maintenance Road we could find while Trina took random pictures of random things out the window.
After a traditional birthday wishing from Grandpa, we spent the day with mom going to our favorite thrift store, the Library (one of my favorite places on earth), and watching "Ice Age 2".
My dear Brother, Daniel, called to pass along his well wishes, and our favorite neighbor, Lana, called to make sure I was having a wonderful day! :D

I took Trina, Leah and Benjamin home to do chores and then ran them back up to Emily's this time where they all went swimming.
Leah and I stayed behind because after such a big day, and the a late-to-the-point-of-early night the night before, I was EXHAUSTED!
With a very thoughtful call from my dear friend Elizabeth to remember, we had some VERY spicy-dad-prepared- steak for supper.
I quick checked my email to find 42 messages mostly from well wishing friends. I checked the "Real" mail to find a beautiful and encouraging birthday card from another friend, Amber!

Then, the grand finale was a VERY special call from a very special family, namely the Hutchins, who ALL (ok most all :D ) sang me TWO different versions of "Happy Birthday"! In Harmony! They are excellent singers who would rival the Wissmann's if they ever recorded! Not to mention the time they took to gather and sing made my day.

*feels special*
THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Y'alls ROCK!

>> Friday, December 5, 2008

I have always wanted a hope chest...but, I had NEVER seen one that I liked. Until like a month ago at goodwill...I loved it. BUT, It was too expensive. I went back a few weeks later. The price had been cut by more than HALF. but nope... Then we went again yesterday. It was gone! I was sad. This morning I go out on the porch to see my final birthday present...THERE IT WAS! I was VERY surprised and pleased.
I played with...
I took pictures of...
I sat on...

Meet "Peter Canon"

My camera broke like 2 weeks ago. It was a Nikon D-70 that I have had for like 2 years and I LOVED it! I bought it camera off of eBay for like $500; my life’s savings well spent  IMHO

This past summer I did not work like the rest of the kids did, because since they were all working I had to babysit the little ones and someone had to cook and do laundry as well
It was really hard for me to submit my self and my plans to dad and God.
Mostly because you all know I am one of those who was born to fly and being held back while I waited for my time and watching all those around me fly was really hard.
But, my other concern was that Dad wanted me to get my drivers licence and I had no $320 for insurance

However God brought along a chicken butchering job...perfect hours too :D
Saving everything I earned I was able to make the money Exactly to what I needed for my insurance
But, then I was jobless again but this time I was just fine with it
I kinda liked/like being at home now but consequently when my camera broke I had all of $70 dollars...and the minimum for repairs running at $220

You all should know this by now, but I was to say the least LOST without it.
I started praying that God would provide either another camera or he would take the desire to have one away.
Right about then, Michael offered to give me $200 toward getting a new one. I took my tickled to death self off and started looking only to be greatly disappointed that I was not going to be able to get ANYTHING good for $270

A few days and MANY prayers later dad sent me to the neighbors to get his pay check. While I sat there chatting with the Mrs. I noticed her cmaera sitting there and asked her some generic questions about it to see if she liked it and if I should perhaps look for one of those...
I coutiously asked what she got it for
When she told me how much she got it for I choked on my dream of ever owning a camera that nice. $1100 for the body and another $800 for the telephoto lense

Then she casually mentioned that she was going to upgrade and would I be interested in buying this camera. I was thinking about how much this one would cost and how much I LIKED it :D
I told her that my camera broke so I WAS looking but...
(I am contemplating cost and thinking about the meager ammount I have to offer)

She said "well I would sell it to you for cheap"
I am like thinking "cheap; define please"
She keeps on going..
"by cheap I mean..oh I dunno..."

“...like..”.

I am holding my breath,

" ...I will give it to you for $150."

I died
:
Yesterday, we went to the camera store and she got her new one and sold me the other one for $150.
But, that is not the end
You see mom had asked before I found out about Lana's camera if she could buy my broken one and I ended up selling it to her for ...

$150
So Basically, through mom and Lana,God gave me the camera for free and dejunked my old one while He was at it!

:D

To write "LOVE" on her arms

As some of you may know there is an organization named "To write Love on her arms" It started with a 19 year old girl and someone who cared. Renee, after cutting the cuss phrase "F***k up" in to her forearm was refused admittance by the rehab hospital. Some friends of hers wrote love on her arms by reaching out to her and loving her like God loves us. Eventually she left the cocaine, alcohol and razor blades for good. On November 13th we held the 2nd annual "To write LOVE on her arms day" On that day people from all over the world wrote the word LOVE on their arms to remember and pray for all the hurting teenagers out there, especially teenaged girls.

We Remember; We pray

It broke! Yes, my beloved Nikon D-70 has gone under the weather. As to just what its 'issues' are I have yet to discover. Except that it will not let me take any pictures, and that is wants to format...but won't format. *sniff* Just so you all know about the lack of pictures... I will keep you all posted as to the progress!
