Purity

(Thank you all for the kind Birthday wishes!)

One of the Gifts I received for my birthday was a Promise/Purity ring from Dad. I thought I would share a bit of what he wrote in his note with you since he did such a good job explaining it:-)

"...16 is a wonderful age to be, so many new opportunities. Some of these will be opportunities to embrace the life that God has given, and to enjoy. Some of the opportunities will be temptations, and things to turn away from....
It is possible that in the years ahead you will be faced with the temptation to compromise your chastity. Use this ring as a reminder to cry out to God in the moment of temptation, and to remain pure until the day you are married. 'No temptation has seized you except what is common to man, And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted He will also provide a way out so you can stand up under it.'
There is a heart in the center of this ring. It represents my love for you, and your heart . There are two little diamonds surrounding the heart...guarding it. They represent purity and faithfulness. These are to remind you to let these quality's guard your heart, remembering that God withholds no good thing from him whose walk is blameless... "

Though it, like as not, makes no difference to you:-), it meant a lot to me and I thought I would share it with you all!

Your ring is beautiful, Hillary and your Dad's note was so very sweet!
Aren't we grateful for such loving, godly Dads??

Hillary,

This post reminded me of the really neat book mark you sent me the other day in the mail with the fabulous quote on it!! I really liked it, and have found myself meditating on it several times since I read it! Thanks so much for challenging me to live at a higher standard by a simple Christmas gift! I hope to write you soon! Christmas Blessings, and hugs!

Love Ya,
Bekah

P.S. Us young girls should continually be encouraging each other in purity! That's how the Lord would have it!!!

The ring you got is sooo pretty! And what your dad say was great! I love how he really put meaning into the ring and what it meant even down to the tiny gems!! I'm glad you got that! That is one of the things I wanted, but my family isn't the 'godliest' family around. But I'm still thankful for them! I'm so happy for you!!

What a beautiful ring. The letter your dad wrote to you was just perfect. So loving and wise. I am sure you loved the ring!!! Better than the old Walmart version eh?!
Love You,
Mom

(I came over from the Rebelution forum) Your ring is beautiful! The letter your Dad wrote to go along with it is precious :-) I hope to get a purity ring soon--my parents were quite willing to get it for my birthday back in October, but we never did determine my ring size (we were going to order over the internet)!
