Baby's day out

>> Sunday, November 7, 2010

Solly had to get his, massively gorgeous and fun to twirl, locks trimmed before the holidays arrived. The weather was stunning and seemed to be screaming for us to have a fun day out with a picnic before winter set in. I naturally obliged. ;-)

We hit the hair salon for a clip, and then the baby consignment shop to pick up 11 ADORABLE onsies, at a grand total of $6.50, for my niece. -- Dear Sarah, I love that with having Caroline, you now make my baby clothes buying habits not sooo weird. Love, Me. PS I want them back, k? ;-) -- After a few interesting little bits, like Baby having a blow out on the way and then the bathrooms being key pad locked, and the baby changing station wanting to fall off the wall -- don't worry I held it up with my leg while I changed him, so he would not have fallen.
Then we went to the park and I parallel parked on a side street, like a dude valet with nothing but parallel parking on the side of the interstate or something!
And we had a really fun time the end.

Really though, the pictures say it all and I put captions with them, so enjoy!

Best on the go baby food... EVER

This is our banana and it says "Solly +Me = Awesome"

Art

Note the truck sticker they gave him for being a good (HA!!) boy at the barber.. ;-)

Awwww his first real solo swinging experience.....

As you can tell from the pictures...

He hated it. For real. I think it scared him...

On to happier things..

As a fun treat we went to Baskin Robbins to share a single scoop cake cone of Vanilla Ice Cream! Ohhhh he looooooved that!

I love his little beard .. hehe

At the end he started getting the "licking" instead of the "open mouth straight on", concept down

This is how we eat ice cream... seeee. ♥

Awl dat Ish Cweam mave me tiwed....

On memorable occasions we try to take pictures of us being cute. =)

Then we went into Seattle (where I parallel parked again :-P) to pick up the dears. (Auntie Dear and Heather Dear)

Yes, we had a marvelous day... I LOVE this little man! I really should apologize to any man who wants to win my heart, the standard has been set rather high and I have already fallen quite decidedly in love. In fact, I find it hard to imagine anyone more sweet and charming and CUTE than Solly... :-P ♥♥♥

Colorado!!!

>> Friday, July 23, 2010

This is a long overdue post but a few weeks ago I got to fly to Denver and stay the weekend with the amazing Burney family! Mr and Mrs. Burney reside in a lovely area outside Denver with their 10 (soon to be 11) children. All of the Burney children are just adorable (you saw Tiffany's photos below) which is not a surprise at all once you have met their parents!

There is art everywhere....you just have to find it!

Promptly after arriving I made a choice that changed me forever....or at least for the rest of the visit. I had a pillow in my hand. And I thought to myself : "If I hit this small child with this pillow, it will cry. However, if I hit that small child with a pillow they will hit me back and a brawl will ensue with all of them against me... I barricaded myself behind the bed and let it fly!"

I have never seen such a marvelous selection of hotwheels in my life before! What boggles my mind is how they kept track of them all! I mean I have my own room now and I still manage to loose my bobby pins, where do they go?! I digress...

And he masters the wink.... ;-)

Can we say "Camera HAM!"

So many cute little men!!

Board games are a favorite of the family and they are pretty good if I do say so myself!

For some reason the small children thought this was just hilarious!
It did not work btw, but ...the frog was cute!

We spent one afternoon watching Donald Duck, (Thank you Hutchins boys for sending them to us!)

Gideon was SUCH a dear!

Sweet friends!

Jedidiah and I share the same birthday! I knew we got along for a reason!

The weekend was up much too soon and I headed back out west. * sigh *

Goodbye Colorado! You treated me well!

A morning routine

>> Tuesday, May 4, 2010

Every morning John used to come into the kitchen in his pajamas and ask to help me make breakfast.

I started to teach him how to make biscuits and he almost had it down to doing it by himself when I left.

Don't worry.... I am sure we had forgotten to wash his hands.

This is just entirely too classic and cute if you ask me!

*insert huge proud grin here*

The completed product all ready to be cooked!

Never take little moments like this for granted! They are only little once, and you never know how big or small the window you have with them will be... I miss this... a lot!
