I thought I would do a little research on the story about the two young men that Paul Washer mentions in his video below. I found this interesting and thought I would share: The rest of the story!
Their names were John Leonard Doper and David Nitschman. Nitschman actually had a wife and young children when he answered the call of God. They thought that they would never return home and that they would indeed, sell themselves into slavery. But, God had a different plan. What God wants from us is to be a yielded vessel.
Here is the rest of the story:
John Leonard Doper and David Nitschman inspired their generation and generations to come to lay down their lives for The Lamb. As it turned out, neither man had to actually sell himself into slavery. The Governor of the island would not have let them. His attitude towards the black slaves there was such that to allow a white man to be enslaved would have been too much for him.
The missionaries arrived in St. Thomas in December of 1732. At first, Nitschmann supported the two of them with his carpentry vocation, but he only stayed at St. Thomas for four months. Dober tried to make a living as a potter, but there wasn't any good clay to make pots. He did, however, get a job as the steward of the Governor's household, and later as a watchman, which allowed him to be closer to the slaves. By 1734, a contingent of 18 missionaries arrived to help out and to spread the missionary work to the neighboring islands of St. Croix, St. John and others.
Conditions for the missionaries were difficult, and many of the early missionaries died. In fact, Moravian missionaries leaving Europe to go to the Caribbean missions always took two things with them: A Bible and their own headstone. There isn't any rock to speak of on those islands, and the missionaries knew that most of them wouldn't come home. And yet, they went in droves! Talk about fully committed to God's work! Dober eventually went back to Europe as part of the administrative head of Moravian Church. Nitschmann returned to Hernhutt Germany, to his wife and children later becoming a Bishop, and led a group of Moravians to form a colony in America in what is now Georgia.
And here's an interesting tidbit: On the voyage over, their ship encountered a hurricane (February 5, 1736). As you can imagine, there was a great deal of panic on board, except with the Moravian group led by Nitschmann. Instead, they sang hymns and were calm. One of the non-Moravians (an Anglican, actually) was very impressed by this. He stayed with the Moravians, and later studied with them in England. This was none other than John Wesley, who later went on to form the Methodist Church. Dober and Nitschmann's work was fruitful. Their mission field is now known as the Eastern West Indies Province. There are 52 Moravian congregations still running strongly today.
"That the Lamb may receive the reward of His suffering!"
Ever wonder what you were just *made* to do?
"Whatever happened to a passion I could live for
What became of the flame that made me feel more
And when did I forget that...
I was made to love you
I was made to find you
I was made just for you
Made to adore you
I was made to love
And be loved by you
You were here before me
You were waiting on me
And you said you'd keep me
Never would you leave me
I was made to love and be loved by you
The dream's alive with my eyes opened wide
Back in the ring you've got me swinging for the grand prize
I feel the haters spittin vapors on my dreams
But I still believe.."
-Toby Mac "Made to love"
Normal song here
Hard core song here
I don't exactly spoil like mayonnaise, though one would think with the way I love to eat it something along those lines would happen.
It appears that I simply fulfill everyone's favorite line from Taylor swift's infamous song: "picture to burn"
"State the obvious you didn't get that complection from me
I realize I should have left you underneath that tree
So watch me strike the sun on your very white face
as far as I'm concerned you can sit out there and BURN!"
Ooookkkkk getting to the point....
"burn baby buuuurn!"
I just HAD to include the other picture.. it does not quite do the burn justice, but it has the farmer tan line (or burn line in this case!)
We had a blast at the Air show though!
:D
The worst thing is, in a few days it will be "peel baby peel" and then I will be all white again! :-( Life is not fair!

Whatever you're doing inside of me,
it feels like chaos but somehow there's peace.
And it's hard to surrender to what I can't see,
but I'm giving into something heavenly.
Listen to the whole song here.
I had this shirt that I liked...but the color was not the best on me. It was a whitish Grey with while lace trim. I decided this morning to dye it navy blue, but I did not want to dye the lace.... What I ended up with was a pleasant surprise that I thought I would share with y'all (in case someone wants to dye something!)
First I took the shirt and tied the hemline where the lace was in a rubber band type thing to keep it contained and separate from the rest of the shirt. I tied an apron string to the rubber band and attached that to the cupboard door handle above the stove so that the lace would remain above the dye in the pot while the rest of the shirt would get dyed. Ingenious right!? Well not exactly for the result I was looking for.
You see, the dye kinda seeped through the rubber band... and got on the lace..and then only parts of it were blue. and it was splotchy.
I was a little disappointed as I rinsed the shirt so I just took it for what it was and washed the whole thing in clean water. Now the residue of dye in the shirt dyed that water and consequently made the lace a light shade of the same blue as the shirt. what I did not realize at the time was that since I bunched up the bottom of the shirt when I dyed it, I ended up making a very neat tie dye hem line that matched the rest of the shirt perfectly!
Below are some pictures of the result.
PS if you have dye (rinse) water left in the sink...try adding bleach and see what happens! In my other life I may just have to be a mad scientist.

I love y'all and I can't wait to see you!
I was sure by now,God, that You would have reached down
and wiped our tears away,
stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen
and it's still raining
as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain,
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away.
Chorus:
And I'll praise you in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to You
and raised me up again
my strength is almost gone how can I carry on
if I can't find You
and as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away
I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth

First off there was coffee....
Maybe a little too much coffee... eh Samuel?
Katherine and Analise model their cuteness.
"Hehe I am so clEver!"
"Yes, Mark, you are AND you crack your self up"
"What exactly DID Mrs Lauer want to be when she grew up?"
All together now... Awwwwwwwwww
I miss Mama Hutchins, She is one of my favorite people in the whole world.
If only Eric knew what was happening behind his back...
Well it is none other than Polczynski! Ben, I am still a little hurt that you ditched me like that on the way home from Bible study. :-( I guess I could always tell Joey, or Michael....
Hello gorgeous who knows how to make pie!
We ate a lot! Right Ben and Mark???
Elizabeth and Abigale...
The god mommy...
The endorphins that were produced last week are a significant factor in what is keeping us running this week.
Thank you Hutchins! We love you!
I took the kids to a bubble show that they earned for reading library books. On the way home it was decided (by me) that ice cream should be consumed. McDonalds... 89cents each :D
We went to the zoo and this turtle liked me. He came over and sat there looking at me right across the glass! I was a little disturbed.
Leah was walking along at the zoo and got gum stuck to her foot, of course we did have to take a picture of it :D
I saw this shirt at Walmart on clearance... My siblings said it was "me" so I got it :D *looks cute*
We were goofing around at the park and dad decided to give a head standing lesson! Now y'all know where we got it from....
So school is out and I have graduated, not only do I now face hoards of people who know me when I “was this big” wanting to know what I am doing with my life but my mail box flooded with colleges telling me to, “Dream B!G” and, “Experience the difference” not to mention, “We Believe you belong here” . Everyone wants to know what I am doing with my life, where I will go to college, when, and what for. I can hardly blame them; I’ve asked myself that question every couple days for the past year.
I looked into colleges, attended Northeast Community College for one summer semester just to take two short classes, and weighed my options. I will admit that the idea of being independent and doing something people would approve of with my life was appealing at first. Disclaimer: I am NOT saying that anything whatsoever is wrong with that, just hear me out. :D
But, that is not what I really wanted to do with my life. Ever since I was little all I wanted to do was be a good wife and mommy. I wanted to have a man that was mine to love with all my heart. I wanted to give him children we could raise in the love and admonition of the Lord. I don’t need a college education for that but as y’all know I can’t exactly bring that about by myself. While some of y’all may disagree with me, I am quite solidly convinced that it is the man’s place to initiate the relationship, not mine.
As I looked ahead to this winter I was thinking: “Hey, I can go to college and like get a teaching degree or do Nutrition to pass the time while I wait for Prince Charming”. I just wanted to get to the point where I that my life in someone’s hands and then they could decide what we did with our lives and I would follow him.
The more I thought about it I remembered that I have already committed my life to someone, I have committed my life in its entirety to Jesus Christ. He has known since the beginning of time just exactly when every breath I take will be. He holds my future and releases it to me one day at a time.
When people ask me what I am doing with my life, I get weird looks when I tell them but I don’t even care anymore.
So to answer the infamous question concerning my future plans, I am living my future; every day one at a time, for my Hero, Savior, Lover, and Lord.
Read more...Ok so I have not blogged and people are telling me my blog is boring... *ouch*
I will blog, just maybe not tonight!
I love y'all and 'I'll be back"
In the past few days I have listened to this haunting song by Regina Spektor a few times and have played it for anyone who would listen. Every time I hear it the same question burns in my mind. What does she mean by the last line " We are all laughing with God" ? You listen and tell me what you think!
Lyrics:
No one laughs at God in a hospital
No one laughs at God in a war
No one’s laughing at God
When they’re starving or freezing or so very poor
No one laughs at God
When the doctor calls after some routine tests
No one’s laughing at God
When it’s gotten real late
And their kid’s not back from the party yet
No one laughs at God
When their airplane start to uncontrollably shake
No one’s laughing at God
When they see the one they love, hand in hand with someone else
And they hope that they’re mistaken
No one laughs at God
When the cops knock on their door
And they say we got some bad news, sir
No one’s laughing at God
When there’s a famine or fire or flood
*Chorus*
But God can be funny
At a cocktail party when listening to a good God-themed joke, or
Or when the crazies say He hates us
And they get so red in the head you think they’re ‘bout to choke
God can be funny,
When told he’ll give you money if you just pray the right way
And when presented like a genie who does magic like Houdini
Or grants wishes like Jiminy Cricket and Santa Claus
God can be so hilarious
Ha ha
Ha ha
No one laughs at God in a hospital
No one laughs at God in a war
No one’s laughing at God
When they’ve lost all they’ve got
And they don’t know what for
No one laughs at God on the day they realize
That the last sight they’ll ever see is a pair of hateful eyes
No one’s laughing at God when they’re saying their goodbyes
But God can be funny
At a cocktail party when listening to a good God-themed joke, or
Or when the crazies say He hates us
And they get so red in the head you think they’re ‘bout to choke
God can be funny,
When told he’ll give you money if you just pray the right way
And when presented like a genie who does magic like Houdini
Or grants wishes like Jiminy Cricket and Santa Claus
God can be so hilarious
No one laughs at God in a hospital
No one laughs at God in a war
No one laughs at God in a hospital
No one laughs at God in a war
No one laughing at God in hospital
No one’s laughing at God in a war
No one’s laughing at God when they’re starving or freezing or so very
poor
No one’s laughing at God
No one’s laughing at God
No one’s laughing at God
We’re all laughing with God
